At this time IHI is restructuring all its investments in the area of SL, due to the quake that happened at ACE. However, we are very optimistic about the future. We use our reinvestment fund to cover losses due to the change of investments, and we are to achieve interesting results, which should improve in the medium term.
I can already say that the dividend for the month of January will be higher than the one for December, because we made rapid decisions when the market was weaker.
I have to admit that the first months of 2009 will be months of hard work, which might give the impression we are not doing anything new, but is clearly the opposite.
By the end of February we will have consolidated the investments in the markets of Second Life. During this time no new projects will be launched.
In March we will present of our new brand, starting as our commercial project.
Talking about commerce, with the announced purchase of xstreetsl and shop.onrez by LL, we actually see a clear opportunity for the emergence to a trading platform not aligned with LL. Accordingly IHI is researching the opportunity and is open to partnerships in that area.
During 2009 the IHI’s plan is to consolidate its business by focusing on areas of strong growth. The aim is to transform the IHI from an investment into a holding company. That means creating companies by the group operating in several areas (real estate, content selling, investment, leisure, etc.), including the holding of significant percentages of companies with excellent profits in the capital markets.
Also IHI contacts partners in RL to move forward with a strong base platform for the Portuguese community in SL.
For this and other reasons I believe with much more certainty that the IHI is not only an investment firm, but an idea of growth planned in the short, medium and long term.
I can only thank all the shareholders who have increased the volume of transactions of shares of IHI, and thank especially all those who believe strongly in the project, who managed to stabilize the company in acceptable levels during the “crisis” at ACE that led to a major shareholder giving orders to sell in considerable volumes and strong decapitalization.
